Description

The NAC-3 Autopilot Computer is recommended for boats above 10 meters (35 feet) in length. It is rated to operate high-current drive pumps including the Simrad RPU160 and RPU300, mechanical drives such as the Simrad DD15, hydraulic linear drives such as the HLD2000 series, and solenoid valves. Simrad Virtual Rudder Feedback (VRF) technology eliminates the need to install a separate rudder feedback unit aboard outboard and sterndrive (inboard/outboard) boats with planning hulls. This reduces overall autopilot system cost and complexity, and is ideal where a feedback unit is impractical due to mechanical constraints. For vessels that do require a physical rudder feedback sensor, the NAC-3 supports SimNet or NMEA 2000 connected Simrad RF25 feedback units, and rudder feedback sensors with variable frequency output including the Simrad RF300. Industry-standard NMEA 2000 networking and NMEA 0183 input allow simple connectivity to heading sensors, rudder feedback units, autopilot controllers, and multifunction displays located anywhere on board.

NAC-3 High Current Course Computer

The NAC-3 Autopilot Computer is the brains behind your Simrad autopilot system. It contains the electronics needed to operate a hydraulic steering pump or mechanical drive unit, while also interfacing with other components including heading sensors and rudder feedback units. The NAC-3 was designed for boats 10M (33′) or greater in length and is rated to operate high-current pumps, mechanical drive units, and solenoid valves (30 Amps continuous/50 Amps peak).

Features:

  • Reliable autopilot performance based on Simrad Continuum steering technology
  • Recommended for boats above 10M (33′) in length
  • High-current output of 30 Amps continuous, 50 Amps peak
  • Clutch output (3 Amps maximum)
  • Compatible with high-current drive pumps, mechanical drives, hydraulic linear drives, and solenoid valves
  • Virtual rudder feedback for simplified installation aboard outboard and sterndrive (inboard/outboard) boats
  • Supports Simrad RF25 and RF300 rudder feedback units
  • NMEA 2000 connectivity to heading sensors, rudder feedbacks, dedicated autopilot controllers, and multifunction displays
  • NMEA 0183 input

Product description For ships longer than 10 meters (35 feet), it is recommended to use a large current output NAC-3 autopilot computer. Its rated working capacity includes mechanical drives such as Simrad RPU160 and RPU300, Simrad DD15, hydraulic linear drives such as the HLD2000 series, and other high-current drive pumps. Virtual steering gear feedback Simrad virtual steering gear feedback (VRF) technology eliminates the need to install separate steering gear feedback units on outboard and stern navigator (inboard/outboard) ships with a planing hull. This reduces the overall cost and complexity of the autopilot, and is ideal when the feedback unit cannot be used due to mechanical limitations. For ships that really need rudder feedback sensors, NAC-3 supports Simrad RF25 feedback units connected to SimNet or NMEA 2000 and rudder feedback sensors with variable frequency output, including Simrad RF300. The easy-to-install industry standard NMEA 2000 network and NMEA 0183 input interface can be easily connected to the heading sensor, rudder feedback unit, autopilot controller and multi-function display at any position on the ship. Product details are based on the reliable autopilot performance of Continuum Steering technology. It is recommended for vessels longer than 10 meters (35 feet). Compatible with high current drive pumps, mechanical drives, hydraulic linear drives and solenoid valves. Virtual rudder feedback simplifies the installation of outboard and stern rudder ships. Support Simrad RF25 and RF300 rudder feedback units. NMEA 2000 is connected with heading sensor, rudder feedback, dedicated autopilot controller and multi-function display. NMEA 0183 input. !!!!—-
